| 7. Deception: does the producer or sources provide misleading information? | |
| 8. Motive: does the news content derive from an agenda, advocacy, etc? | |
| 9. Embellishment: does the producer or sources provide commentary, opinion, spin, analysis? | |
| 10. Disclosure of Unknowns: does the producer integrate knowledge of missing information into the content narrative? | |
| 11. Assumptions: does the producer compensate for known missing information? | |
| 12. Conflict of Interest: does the producer have a personal stake or bias relative to the story that cannot be set aside? | |
| 13. Source Quantity: does the producer consult more than 2 sources? | |

| 21. Key Detail Omission: degree to which pertinent information is omitted, altering the meaning of the story |
